We try to make our 3&$45;D artwork as detailed as possible. For example, any detail you can see on the front of the locomotive is included in our models. We start bu taking a lot of photos of existing locomotives and looking through a lot of historic reference materials. In many cases, existing locomotives are missing parts, and we use the reference materials to recreate them in our models. From there we build a detailed CAD model to achieve a 3&$45;D effect. The trick is slicing the locomotive into layers and individual parts that fit together like puzzle pieces. We then load the CAD details into our laser cutting machiens to precisely cut the individual parts. Lasers have an incredible ability to produce super fine detail with very clean edges. We assemble, finish and mount the parts to create the final product. One last important step. Whenever possible, we send our prototypes to subject matter experts - to review our art for accuracy. For example, before we began making our C&O 614 artwork, we sent a prototype to Ross Rowland &$45; the locomotive's owner - for his approval. And we keep improving designs of existing products to add more detail and realism - especially when we get suggestions on how to improve them. 3-dimensional Wall Art Our large Wall Art is an impressive way to display your favorite locomotive. Our Wall Art measures 22 inches high by 16 inches wide. The layers of detail add up to approximately 2 inches of 3-dimensional depth. Wall Art is made of layers of composite wood material. Parts are painted to match the prototype locomotive. Hanging our Wall art is easy. It is designed to hang securely from a screw or a nail that you put in your wall. 3-dimensional Shadowboxes Our Shadowboxes are an elegant way to display 3-D art. the 3-D art in our shadowboxes shares exactly the same level of detail as our Wall Art - only smaller. The finished Shadowbox measures 15.5 inches tall by 12.5 inches wide and 2.5 inches deep. Artwork is made from the highest quality acid-free matboard - so colors will not change or fade. Shadowboxes are available in either a beautiful black or cherry finish, and include all wall,hanging hardware.
